1. Through the National trademark registration system a trademark may be registered directly in Romania.
2. Through the International trademark registration system with W.I.P.O., as international trademark, (also known as WIPO trademark), designating Romania.
3. Through European Union trademark registration system with O.H.I.M., as Romania is member of the European Union, as European trademark (also known as community trademark or EU trademark).

Trademark Registration in Romania: Requirements and Procedure

Trademark registration requirements in Romania:

- Power of attorney simply signed, it can be filled in 2 months. You can download our Power of Attorney here.
- Design of the trademark in JPEG format in case of a graphical trademark (not required for word mark).
- The details of goods and/or services for witch the trademark will be registered or the classes in case they are known.
- Details of the trademark owner (name, address, registration number).
- Invoicing details (name, address, fiscal number, registration number).
- Certified copy of priority document in case priority is to be claimed in 3 months from filling. If the document is not in Romanian it has to be translated.

Trademark registration procedure in Romania:

The trademark registration procedure lasts 20 months. The protection lasts 10 years from the filing date.
