Trademark registration requirements in Qatar:

- Power of attorney legalized up to the Qatar or any Arab state Consulate. 
- Certified copy of the certificate of incorporation or extract from the commercial register
- Design of the trademark in JPEG format in case of a graphical trademark (not required for word mark).
- The detaliation of goods and/or services for witch the trademark will be registered or the classes in case they are known.
- Details of the trademark owner (name, address, registration number).
- Invoicing details (name, address, fiscal number, registration number).
- Information related to the previously filed trademarks, in order to benefit of the priority date, if it is the case. In case that priority is claimed, you must provide us the certified copy of the priority document. All documents must accompany the application when filed unless priority is claimed, then late filing will be accepted.

Trademark registration procedure in Qatar:

After acceptance the trademark is published in the Qatar Official Trademark Gazette. The opposition period is within 4 months following publication. The registration procedure lasts 24 months. The protection lasts 10 years from the filing date.

Trademark renewal in Qatar: The trademark renewal may be done within 12 months before expiry with a grace period of 6 months. For the trademark renewal we need the power of attorney legalized up to the Qatar or any Arab Consulate. After trademark renewal the protection lasts 10 years.
Trademark changes in Qatar: For changing the name or the address we need the power of attorney duly legalized up to the Qatar or any Arab Consulate and the certificate of change of name duly legalized up to the Qatar or any Arab Consulate.
Trademark assignment and trademark license in Qatar: For the trademark assignment we need the power of attorney legalized up to the Qatar or any Arab Consulate, a deed of assignment legalized up to the Consulate of Qatar or any Arab country and a certified copy of the certificate of incorporation or extract from the commercial register. For the agency agreement we need the power of attorney legalized up to the Qatar or any Arab consulate and an agency agreements executed by the Principal and the Agent, legalized up the Qatari Consulate. The agency agreements should include names and nationalities for both the agents and the principal, goods and products and services that are nominated in Agency contract, rights and liabilities of both Agent and Principal, and the Principal’s responsibility towards his Agent’s obligations with clarifying the proportion of profit or commission, the commence of agency if it is for a limited period. Please note that the compensation of one another (Principal and Agent) for any damages may be caused by isolation or termination in critical times without justified excuse, is compulsory
Trademark use in Qatar: Non-use for 5 consecutive years following registration makes the registration vulnerable to cancellation.
