Trademark Registration in Peru: Requirements and Procedure

Trademark registration requirements in Peru:

- Power of attorney. 
- Design of the trademark in JPEG format in case of a graphical trademark (not required for word mark).
- The detaliation of goods and/or services for witch the trademark will be registered or the classes in case they are known.
- Details of the trademark owner (name, address, registration number).
- Invoicing details (name, address, fiscal number, registration number).
- In case that priority is claimed, the certified copy of the priority document will be filed within three months from the filing date.

Trademark registration procedure in Peru: 

The opposition period is within 30 days following publication. The registration procedure lasts 6-12 months. The protection lasts 10 years from the registration date. 

Other trademark procedures in Peru:

Trademark renewal in Peru: The trademark renewal may be done in 6 months before expiry. There is a grace period of 6 months once the renewal data has expired. For the trademark renewal we need the power of attorney. After trademark renewal the protection lasts 10 years.
Trademark use in Peru: Non-use for 3 years following the date of registration or for any other uninterrupted 3 year period leaves the mark vulnerable to cancellation
