- Power of attorney, legalized.- Design of the trademark in JPEG format in case of a graphical trademark (not required for word mark).
- The detaliation of goods and/or services for witch the trademark will be registered or the classes in case they are known.
- Details of the trademark owner (name, address, registration number).
- Invoicing details (name, address, fiscal number, registration number).
- Certified copy of priority document in case priority is to be claimed.
Trademark registration procedure in Mexico:
The trademark registration procedure lasts 4 - 6 months. The trademark protection lasts 10 years from the filing date. There is no opposition period.Other trademark procedures in Mexico:
Trademark renewal in Mexico: The trademark renewal may be done within the 6 months before expiry. For the renewal we need the power of attorney legalized and the trademark design in JPEG format case. After trademark renewal, the protection lasts 10 years.
Trademark assignment in Mexico: For the trademark assignment we need the power of attorney legalized, the assignment deed legalized. Trademark assignments in Mexico may be done with or without Goodwill, a tax of 10% recited amounts payable if assignment between Mexican entities. Pending application and unregistered mark may be assigned.
