Trademark Registration in Lebanon: Requirements and Procedure

Trademark registration requirements in Lebanon:

- Power of attorney simply signed and stamped. You can download our Power of Attorney here.
- Design of the trademark in JPEG format in case of a graphical trademark (not required for word mark).
- The detaliation of goods and/or services for witch the trademark will be registered or the classes in case they are known.
- Details of the trademark owner (name, address, registration number).
- Invoicing details (name, address, fiscal number, registration number).
- In case that priority is claimed, the copy of the priority document will be filed simultaneously with the application.

Trademark registration procedure in Lebanon:

 After the approval the trademark is published in the Official Gazette. The registration procedure lasts 2 months. The protection lasts 15 years from the date of acceptance.

Trademark renewal in Lebanon: The trademark renewal may be done within 3 months before expiry; there is a grace period of 6 months. For the trademark renewal we need the power of attorney simply signed, the number and date of the trademark and copy of registration/ last renewal certificate. After trademark renewal the protection lasts 15 years.
Trademark changes in Lebanon: For changing the name or the address we need the power of attorney simply signed, the certificate of change of name/address duly legalized up to the Lebanese Consulate and a photocopy of registration or last renewal certificate.
