Trademark Registration in Hungary: Requirements and Procedure

Trademark registration requirements in Hungary:

- Power of attorney simply signed.
- Design of the trademark in JPEG format in case of a graphical trademark (not required for word mark).
- The detaliation of goods and/or services for witch the trademark will be registered or the classes in case they are known.
- Details of the trademark owner (name, address, registration number).
- Invoicing details (name, address, fiscal number, registration number).
- In case that priority is claimed - the certified copy of the priority document will be filed simultaneously with the application.

Trademark renewal in Hungary: For the trademark renewal we need the power of attorney simply signed.
Trademark changes in Hungary: For changing the name or the address we need the official document certifying change of name.
Trademark assignment in Hungary: For the trademark assignment we need the power of attorney simply signed by the Assignor and Assignee and sealed by a corporate seal. Each document should be also dated and show the company's name and address, the name and corporate position of the signing person. The notarization is not required. The Assignment Deed in triplicate, in original, signed by both the Assignor and the Assignee. The document should also indicate the complete address of the parties involved in the Assignment, class coverage for the Assignment and also show the place and date of signing, the names and corporate positions of the signing persons. The notarization is not required.
