Trademark Registration in Bahrain: Requirements and Procedure

Trademark registration requirementsin Bahrain:

- Power of attorney simply signed and stamped.
- Certified copy of any of the following documents: the registration certificate, certificate of incorporation, extract from the commercial register or certificate issued by the Chamber of Commerce of the applicant, provided the business activity which is mentioned in such certificate includes the goods or services for which the trademark will be registered.
- Design of the trademark in JPEG format in case of a graphical trademark.
- The detaliation of goods and/or services for witch the trademark will be registered or the the classes in case they are known. List of goods to be covered by the application cannot be longer than 6 lines.
- Details of the trademark owner (name, address, registration number).
- Invoicing details (name, address, fiscal number, registration number).
- Information related to the previously filed trademarks, in order to benefit from the priority date, if it is the case.

Trademark registration procedure in Bahrain:

The registration procedure lasts 24 months. The opposition period is 2 months from publication in the Official Gazette. The protection lasts 10 years from the filing date.
