Africa - Trademark registration and protection

In Africa there are 3 trademark registration and protection systems:

1. National trademark registration system, in which trademark protection is secured directly in the national patent & trademark office. For national trademark registration, please select one of the countries of your interest, you will be able to add later also other contries, if needed.
2. Through the ARIPO trademark registration system, a treaty that secures trademark protection in the following countries: Botswana, Lesotho, Malawi, Namibia, Swaziland, Tanzania, Uganda and Zimbabwe.
3. Through the OAPI trademark registration system, a treaty that secures trademark protection in the following countries: Benin, Burkina Faso, Cameroon, Central African Republic, Chad, Congo Republic, Equatorial Guinea, Gabon, Guinea, Guinea-Bissau, Ivory Coast, Mali, Mauritania, Niger, Senegal, and Togo.
