Trademark Law. The aim of this Decree-Law is to protect trademarks registered in conformity with the provisions thereof. This Decree-Law establishes the principles, rules and conditions for the protection of trademarks.

Trademark Decree Law (Decree-law No. 556 as amended by Law No. 4128 of November 7, 1995)

Trademark Regulation (The Implementing Regulations under the Decree-law No. 556 as amended on 1999 and on 2002). The object of these Regulations is to specify the procedures and the rules to be followed concerning the time and place of filing and the preparation of the application documents for registering a trademark, and other matters related with trademarks as provisioned in The Decree-Law No 556 Pertaining to the Protection of Trademarks.

International legislation

Turkey is a part of  WIPO (World Intellectual Property Organization) treaties, as fallows:
- WIPO Convention, since since May 1976.
- Paris Convention (Industrial Property), since October 1925.
- Madrid Protocol (International Registration of Marks), since January 1999.
- Nice Agreement (International Classification of goods and Services), since January 1996.
- Vienna Agreement (International Classification of the Figurative Elements of Marks), since January 1996.

As a part of the World Trade Organization (WTO), Turkey is Member and Signatory to TRIPS Agreement, since March 1995.

Membership of other bodies/treaties: BSEC, UPOV.
- Member of BSEC (Black Sea Economic Cooperation) since June 1992.
- Member of UPOV (International Union for the Protection of New Varieties of Plants) since November 2007.
