International legislation
Nepal is a part of WIPO (World Intellectual Property Organization) treaties, as fallows:- WIPO Convention, since February 1997.
- Paris Convention (Industrial Property), since June 2001.
As a part of the World Trade Organization (WTO), Nepal is is Member and Signatory to TRIPS Agreement, since April 2004.
Membership of other bodies/treaties: Member of SAARC since December 1985. The South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation (SAARC) was established when its Charter was formally adopted on December 8, 1985 by the Heads of State or Government of Bangladesh, Bhutan, India, Maldives, Nepal, Pakistan and Sri Lanka.
