Law of Mongolia on Trade Marks and Geographical Indications 2003Law on Unfair Competition of Mongolia of July 5, 1993, as amendeded on May 12, 2000 - Law forbids illegal use of trademarks, commercial names, labels of others, and distribution and sale of scientific technology, know-how, commercial and industrial secrecy without authorization of the author.
Law on Tradenames and Trademarks, February 1997; prior to that, the Statute on Trademarks, 1967, as last amended in September 1987. The purpose of this law is to ensure legal guarantees for trademarks and trade names, to protect the rights and legal interests of their owners, and to regulate relations concerning the ownership, use and disposal of trademarks and trade names.
Trademark and certificate of origin (Custom Tariff) Law, 1996 - Determination of customs value of imported goods, Articles 14-15 ( trademark and certificate of origin are among the factors to be considered in determining whether the goods are identical or and similar for the purpose of applying customs value).
Customs Law of Mongolia of May 16, 1996 - Chapter 3 - Customs Clearance, Article 10 (certificates of origin, licenses for goods are among the custom documentations required for customs clearance), Article 31.9 (trademarks, patents and copyrights registration are required for goods entering or leaving a customs bonded zone or custom special zone directly from or to abroad).

International legislation
Mongolia is a part of WIPO (World Intellectual Property Organization) treaties, as fallows:- WIPO Convention, since February 1979.
- Paris Convention (Industrial Property), since April 1985.
- Madrid Agreement (International Registration of Marks), since April 1985.
- Madrid Protocol (International Registration of Marks), since June 2001.
- Nice Agreement (International Classification of Goods and Services), since June 2001.
- Nairobi Treaty (Protection of the Olympic Symbol), since August 2002.
As a member of the World Trade Organisation (WTO), Mongolia is Member and Signatory to TRIPS Agreement, since January 1997.
