International legislation
India is membership of World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) treaties as part of:
- WIPO Convention since May 1,1975;
- Paris Convention for the Protection of Industrial Property of March 20, 1883;
- Nairobi Treaty on the Protection of the Olympic Symbol, adopted at Nairobi on September 26, 1981.
As member of World Trade Organization (WTO), India is part of Agreement on Trade-Related Aspects of Intellectual Property Rights (TRIPS Agreement) (1994) since 1 January 1995.
